Pumpkin Measurement

We practiced our measuring skills while having fun with pumpkins!  First we estimated weight, size (how tall and how far around), and amount of seeds.  Then we figured out the actual measurements.  Comparing our estimates and actual measurements was a great way to think about subtraction.  We even learned how to use calculators to solve tricky subtraction problems.  

Do pumpkins float or sink in water?  Some of us were surprised when big heavy pumpkins floated!
