Class 2-1 is off to a great start for the 2013-14 school year.   Our first reading goal is picking good fit books to read.  We want to choose books that: fit our purpose for reading, are interesting, we can under understand, and books that aren't too hard or too easy.  We looked at our brand new reading books and discussed how to take good care of the books and other school property.

We started a spelling test over all the words we learned in first grade.  We hope to finish the test by Friday.

In math we picked our favorite numbers and discussed where we could find them.  100 was the most popular number.  It can be found on number charts and number lines.  2 was the lowest number and was the age of a little sister.  90,000 was one of the biggest numbers.  That would be a lot of money to spend.  Our numbers can be found on football jerseys, in stores, and around the school.
